The national campaign against domestic violence is being expanded

Bern, 26.10.2026 — The services offered by the national prevention campaign against domestic, sexual and gender-based violence is being expanded, and access to existing support services will be made easier. A new a relationship check is now available online to help recognise the warning signs of violence. Further information is also available in easy-to-read language and in several non-national languages. From now on, members of the public can order campaign materials free of charge. The aim is to reach as wide an audience as possible and to make those affected – as well as those around them – aware of the support services available at an early stage.

The federal government’s campaign against domestic, sexual and gender-based violence, carried out in collaboration with the cantons, communes and civil society, has been running since November 2025 and aims to strengthen prevention efforts against these widespread forms of violence. The campaign seeks to draw attention to the early warning signs of violence, offer low-threshold access to information and support services, and raise public awareness about the various forms of violence. To this end, the campaign highlights existing counselling and support services, in particular the 142 Victim Support Switzerland hotline.

Easy-to-read language and multilingual information

The campaign website has been updated to make it easier to access information and offers of support. The content is now available in easy-to-read German, French, and Italian. Key information and offers of support have also been translated in the eight most widely spoken non-national languages (Albanian, Arabic, Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian/Montenegrin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Ukrainian). In addition, the most important information about support is now also available in sign language.

New relationship check to raise awareness of the warning signs of violence

An online relationship check is now available on the campaign website www.without-violence.ch. Six simple questions help identify the possible warning signs of violence in intimate relationships and reflect on one’s own relationship. The relationship check provides anonymous, easy-to-access guidance. It is intended to raise awareness and is not a substitute for personal counselling. Based on their answers, users are provided with information on appropriate support and counselling services.

Order campaign materials for free

Individuals can now order campaign materials directly from the Federal Publications Shop. Posters, stickers, buttons, flyers and other informational materials are available free of charge. The goal is for as many people as possible to relay the campaign’s message and draw attention to existing support services.

Widespread support throughout Switzerland

The national prevention campaign against domestic, sexual and gender-based violence is supported by numerous cantons, cities, communes and civil society organisations. It is an integral part of the federal government’s 2030 Gender Equality Strategy and contributes to the implementation of the Istanbul Convention.
