Work: Cantons of Ticino and Bern pass symbolic milestone in 2023
Neuchâtel, 21.08.2025 — In 2023, the Swiss economy totalled some 5.64 million jobs, reflecting growth of 1.5% compared with 2022 across the cantons. In Ticino the number of jobs passed the 250 000 mark for the first time, while the number of full-time equivalents in canton of Bern exceeded 500 000. Between 2011 and 2023, more than 770 000 jobs were created in Switzerland. Almost all of these new jobs were in the service sector. These are the latest results from the Federal Statistical Office’s (FSO) Structural Business Statistics (STATENT).
