Producer and Import Price Index fell in June by 0.1%
Neuchâtel, 14.07.2025 — The Producer and Import Price Index fell by 0.1% in June 2025 compared with the previous month. The index stood at 106.4 points (December 2020 = 100). Petroleum products in particular saw falling prices. In contrast, food products as well as petroleum and natural gas saw higher prices. Compared with June 2024, the price level of the whole range of domestic and imported products fell by 0.7%. These are the results of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
In the Producer Price Index, higher prices were recorded than in the previous month for processed tea and coffee in particular. Petroleum products, in contrast, became cheaper.
Petroleum products were responsible in particular for the decline in the Import Price Index compared with May 2025. Prices also fell for pharmaceutical preparations, green coffee, vegetables, melons and potatoes. In contrast, prices for petroleum and natural gas rose, as did prices for other transport equipment.
