What it Takes to Make Case Management Work for Children and Youth on the Move
Dear Network, we are pleased to share a new article on what it takes to ensure quality case management for children and youth on the move, drawing on the experience of two SDC co-financed programmes working along migration routes in East, West and North Africa: the East African Migration Routes (EAMR) and Enfants et Jeunes sur les Routes Migratoires (EJM).
For children on the move, protection too often stops at the border. The article looks at what actually enables continuity of care across borders: the frameworks, tools and cross-border linkages that work, and where cooperation still breaks down in practice.
It draws on a webinar convened by the KAPCYM Unit on “Strengthening Regional Cooperation on Case Management Systems”, with contributions from the EAMR and EJM Projects and the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action.
It's a great illustration of the migration/protection support the SDC is backing in the region, and of what regional cooperation can achieve when top-down frameworks and frontline actors work together.
